As the voice of business and an accredited Chamber, the WCC staff are guided by their mission, vision and values to ensure a customer experience like no other. The Chamber’s diverse membership is the backbone of this community and support its thriving business ecosystem.
With 720 members in March 2020, the WCC team continually puts the needs of the membership first when developing and executing programming. This includes more than 80 events throughout the year, many of which are free to attend. In addition to providing opportunities to connect and learn, the WCC hosts outstanding signature events including Connect Women, The Business Summit and its annual gala, the Peter Perry & Business Achievement Awards.

In this episode, Corette & Jill talk to Laura Hutt from Women in Steel Toes. Laura shares how, as a young teenager, just entering the world of construction, she had a bad experience which, thinking the behavour was normal, ultimately left her feeling she had no choice but to quit her job or continue enduring the toxic behaviour. Securing a new role in construction, her experience was completely different leading her wanting to help other women in construction providing them the skills, resources and tools to set boundaries and flourish in the male dominated world of construction and the skilled trades.
