The Head of the Special Investigating Unit talks about R2billion recovery effort that is being pursued through the Special Tribunal that was established last year. He says that the SIU has 20 corruption cases before the special court and 15 new cases are being registered. Advocate Mothibi says the investigation into the R30 million Gauteng eGovernance and Finance Department’s IT has been finalized and reported to the Premier David Makhura. Premier Makhura is expected to publish the findings and recommendations soon. The SIU is Investigating several Covid19 cases, Mothibi says.
