Moses says, “See, I set before you today a blessing and a curse.” Israel is called to see clearly, refuse idols, care for the poor, and celebrate before YHWH. Isaiah exposes fasting that looks holy but ignores injustice. Jesus warns against hypocrisy, greed, and worry, and calls for repentance that bears fruit. Loving God with all our heart means letting Him reshape what we see as “normal” so we can choose life in the real world.
