Singapore is the epitome of Asian modernity. What was once a former British colony and battleground for a guerrilla war in the 1950s, now evolved into a prosperous and peaceful island state. However, even in the most peaceful of places, there is bound to be evil and crime, and this was certainly true in 1980s Singapore. The satellite town of Toa Payoh would awaken twice to horrible news of murders and the realisation that they had been living near neighbours who believed their dark deeds to be of service to certain gods.
