In the midst of escalating ICE tactics, a 16-year-old boy in the state of Oregon had the courage to share his story in front of his city council. Despite being a US citizen, he spends every day in fear because of the color of his skin. Todd uses this powerful story to encourage all of us to focus on each other’s humanity and use whatever platform we may have to spread the truth.

After our daily Wisconsin Fun Fact, Todd celebrates Brewers Manager Pat Murphy’s success. Last night, he won National League Manager of the Year for the second year in a row. 

This afternoon, Todd asks us What’s Worse: swiss or cheddar? Citizens of the dairy state chime in with their strong opinions on the best cheeses. 

Later on in the show, Todd covers the biggest breaking national news. Rep. Adelita Grijalva (D-AZ) has finally been sworn in after a lengthy delay, providing the final vote needed to release the Epstein files. In other national news, Sec. Hegseth has called for “no more dudes in dresses,” excluding Rudy Giuliani and JD Vance from service.

Last night, we discovered that Senator Ron Johnson and other Republicans who attempted to steal the 2020 election snuck a deal into the budget continuing resolution. Our typical Wednesday panel, Pat Kreitlow of Mornings with Pat Kreitlow and Trygve Olson of The Lincoln Project, joins us to discuss the specifics. We also hear from our friend and legal expert Matt Flynn on the potential consequences if this bill is not amended.

Happy Veterans Day! Today, our friend Teri Barr joins us to share an overlooked story about the roots of the holiday in Wisconsin’s history. In Teri’s latest article, she dives into the life of Harvey Higley, a UW-Madison grad and WWI veteran who dedicated his life to taking care of other veterans. Higley was instrumental in establishing several national VA programs, including the GI bill, as well as changing Armistice Day to Veterans Day. 

At the bottom of the hour, Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez joins us in-studio to talk about how the discontinuation of Affordable Care Act subsidies will affect Wisconsinites. When it comes down to it, if the funding ends, healthcare prices will rise for everybody, even those who do not have an ACA plan. She also updates us on her gubernatorial campaign.

Today is the 50th anniversary of the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Many of us know the Gordon Lightfoot song, but the shipwreck was a true tragedy that shook many lives. At the bottom of the hour, Bill McCoshen joins Todd to share memories of that fateful day 50 years ago and pay tribute to the 29 lives that were lost.
