The Top 4 Surprises a Leader Doesn’t Spring on The Team – Part 4
Are team members surprised when you give them a compliment and tell them ‘job well done!’? Do you lavish compliments and positive feedback on your team? You should. Don’t surprise your team by giving them little to no feedback. The over 80% disengagement of the workforce is partly the result of managers who are skimpy to nonexistent with praise. Every human being needs positive feedback and a compliment every now and then to affirm they are doing a good job – the job you are expecting – and to feel excited and validated in their work. It is the foundation for a good relationship between the boss and team, and its free encouragement that provides the impetus for them to do even better. You need to hear it and they need to hear it. If you are hesitant to offer praise because you struggle holding them accountable on the other hand, listening to this podcast will give you every reason to get over that. You just might surprise yourself!
