Publisher's Summary:
The Travellers Tool is an up-market mans mans manual which will find its place next to the Nivea on every executives bedside table. When Sir Les Patterson at last agreed to wet his nib and set down on paper his guide for the modern man on the move he made his intention very clear: "Im a mans man and I call a spade a spade, so if youre a bluenosed wowser, a raving pillow-biter or a loony old lezzo with a face like a half-sucked mango, Id chuck this book away now because in the pages that follow I employ the direct, no holds barred lingo of a serious Australian diplomat at the top of his profession and the height of his sexual powers."
In The Travellers Tool, Australias most articulate high-flyer lays bare the international lifestyle as he has lived it. The book is not only packed with practical advice, but is also, in Sir Less own words, as funny as buggery.

I Loved It!
Would you listen to The Traveller's Tool again? Why?
Barry Humphries' characters are brilliant and Sir Les is my personal favourite.
In "The Traveller's Tool" he does not disappoint.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Traveller's Tool?
The "Honda Joke"
What about Sir Les Pattersons performance did you like?
SLP is raconteur par excellence. His conversational style really gets the stories across. At one point, I was listening to this audiobook on an aeroplane and quite frankly, I could convince myself that he was sitting next to me telling me the stories one to one.
What insight do you think youll apply from The Traveller's Tool?
That I want to be an Australian Federal Government Public Servant with a Gold Amex card.
Love or Hate it
You should know what you will get with this classic book as told by Les himself. Barry Humphries is a genius and this non PC book will have you laughing all the way through or reaching for the off button pretty early. As Les says in the intro "it probably isn't a book for the lady's".
Funny, vulgar, and ultimately too long
Any additional comments?
Some gems, a lot of filler. This book is hilarious in places, and dull in others.
No worries mate
This is the funniest, most irreverent and completely un PC audio book I've listened to in quite some time and I do like comedies. Barry Humphreys is a genius as he brings to life the glitzy, glamorous and at the same time somewhat seedy world of international diplomacy that Sir Les Patterson inhabits. I listen to this audio book as I'm out walking the dog and my neighbours must think I'm nuts as I literally laugh out loud (no manufactured LOL needed here) and double up at his candid bravery of the brilliant narrative.
