The kingdom of heaven is about a person, Jesus; a place, heaven; and possessions, our eternal rewards. Jesus is the center and focus of our faith. He endured the cross and despised its shame for the joy that was set before him. We cannot take our earthly possessions with us when we die, but we can store up for ourselves treasures in heaven by investing in that which will last forever. As the poet C. T. Studd wrote, “Only one life, ’twill soon be past; only what’s done for Christ will last.” What person, what place, what possessions are you living for? Here’s this week’s message, “The Treasure.”
