Galveston is consistently listed in the top ten most haunted cities in the nation, and with no wonder: the amount of catastrophe to hit the island is staggering. It’s the sight of a major battle during the Civil War, it’s been swallowed by over 20 fires in the late 1800’s, and has been devastated by several  hurricanes. It’s been known as “Pleasure Island”, “Sin City”, and “The Interdependent State of Galveston” when vice and the "Mob" ruled. This week Strange Neighbors, we’ll be kicking off summer and exploring the island life with the Tremont House Hotel, located in the heart of the Galveston Island historic district.
