Paul wants to show his readers that he is part of a winning team. So far he has talked about troubles and hassle and pressures and problems. But he wants to make it clear: that is not the whole story in ministry. Rather, he sees himself in a triumphal procession. Not of the emperor, but of Christ! Christ is the winner! He is in the chariot, coming in.
