The Troubled Teen Industry is a BILLION dollar industry in the United States that's marketed as camps or schools for parents to send their children for "rehabilitation" for anything ranging from drug addiction to mental illness to sexual identity. Although it's been around for decades, many people have come forward with accounts of traumatizing and harmful experiences at these "camps". Including – but definitely not limited to – kidnapping, humiliation, starvation, and forced silence. Over 50,000 minors are sent here every year for indefinite amounts of time.
