In these parables we studied on Sunday - the parable of the sower, the growing seed, and the mustard seed - Jesus is teaching a view of the Kingdom that is runs counter, not just to the Pharisee's view of the Kingdom, but to ours as well. The Kingdom is born from those who are willing to receive it. This "radical revolution" comes from the heart, not from massive action. Another thing we learned from these parables is that the Kingdom is NOT dependent on us. It's God's work, and God works in ways that are hidden, slow, and seemingly insignificant.
