As the IP boom continues, the “true crime” genre has taken center stage, with adaptations of unbelievable-yet-somehow-real stories ranging from absurd and petty, to sober and informative, or haunting and gruesome. With “true” crime inevitably comes real victims at the center, adding another layer to the adaptation process. This panel was recorded at ATX TV Festival Season 11 (June 2-5, 2022) in Austin, TX.
