There's much talk about Characters Arcs™ nowadays, but I think we're in danger of missing the point. The purpose is to make an interesting character, and to make their journey Truthful. We can't teach writers how to have a Truth worth expressing. You can only teach them how to express it. So, if you're struggling to give your character a meaningful arc, then don't go to video essays like this. Go into your journals, your memories, your dreams. We can only help you learn the craft; we can't give you a vision, and that's what really matters.
