For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. 16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification. 17 For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. 18 So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men. 19 For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous. 20 The Law came in so that the transgression would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21 so that, as sin reigned in death, even so grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Principle #1 (12-14): ADAM'S SIN is the root cause of all the pain, suffering, and death in the world.

Principle #2 (15-17): God's GRACE is much greater than our TRANSGRESSIONS.

Main Theme: Through one MAN'S one DECISION (either Adam or Jesus), all men are either cursed or blessed.

1 Corinthians 15:20–22 NASB95 20 But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. 21 For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive.

Application#1: Our DECISIONS have far more significant RAMIFICATIONS on the lives of others than we realize.

Joshua 7:10–12 NLT 10 But the Lord said to Joshua, "Get up! Why are you lying on your face like this? 11 Israel has sinned and broken my covenant! They have stolen some of the things that I commanded must be set apart for me. And they have not only stolen them but have lied about it and hidden the things among their own belongings. 12 That is why the Israelites are running from their enemies in defeat. For now Israel itself has been set apart for destruction. I will not remain with you any longer unless you destroy the things among you that were set apart for destruction.

Application #2: Think GENERATIONALLY. Living life God's way doesn't just bless you, it blesses those AROUND you now and GENERATIONS AFTER you.
