The story follows Kerry Westerfield, a philosophy professor who receives a radio that turns out to be much more than a simple device—it’s a Twonky, an inexplicable entity with mysterious abilities. The Twonky starts performing tasks for Kerry, such as lighting his cigarettes, washing dishes, and even playing cards. However, it soon becomes clear that the Twonky is not just helpful—it’s controlling.
