How do you practice self care? This is a very broad subject, and it certainly means something different to everyone. When you think of self-care, relaxing bubble baths, face masks, or going to get a deep tissue massage might come to mind. It is absolutely all of this, but it's also SO much more than these things, and there really is no right or wrong way to indulge in this practice; as long as it is something that you practice often and it helps to bring you joy and makes you feel mentally and physically refreshed.

Self-care is like a reset button for the mind and body. Life can get hectic and stressful, and a lot of time can pass before we realize that we've been on auto-pilot and we have not taken a moment to ourselves in way too long. Purposefully setting aside a part of a day or even a full day to do your favorite activities or be fully present with you is one of the best forms of self care. It also can look like honoring what feels good in any given moment, setting boundaries, saying YES when you mean yes, and NO when you mean no. It can look like intentional rest and listening to what is alive inside of your body. 

The mind is constantly working, thinking of others, dealing with overwhelming situations, and wandering elsewhere. Slowing down and tuning out the noise of the outside world not only feels great, but the overall effects it has on our mental health and emotional well being is tremendous. We teach others how to love us, by the way that we love YOURSELVES. 

This is my invitation to you. Spend an hour tapping into the ultimate form of self care. Being present with YOU. Setting everything aside and putting down all of the doing and tap into more of your being.
