Can God's promises be broken or altered- Paul makes clear the promise to Abraham, that justification would be by faith to all people who believe, could not be broken or altered, even by the law. Why then did God give the law- To reveal mans sin and inability to be righteous on their own. God's covenant of promise and covenant of law do not contradict or compete against each other. Instead, both lead us to Jesus the Savior.
