With the theme set, menu planned, and decorations meticulously arranged, she felt confident alongside her reliable co-host, Lily—until the unexpected call came two days before the event.
“I’m so sorry, Sam! I’m stuck out of town for work. There’s no way I can make it back in time,” Lily apologized, her voice filled with genuine regret.
Samantha’s heart raced. Who would help her manage the guests, the catering, the music cues? She paced her apartment, glancing at the growing checklist on her phone. That’s when her boyfriend, Alex, casually lounging with his coffee, looked up and said, “Why don’t I help you co-host?”
