What did you like about this audiobook?

Having anxiously waited for what seems to be forever, finally more of the House of Niccolo!

Audible, please make the Spring of the Ram (Book 2) and Scales of Gold (Book 4) available as quickly as possible! These books should be savored in the order they were written and as I have read them in the "old-fashioned" way atleast once a year since they were originally released in print.

It is so wonderful to have the books currently available read by such an accomplished narrator. Beautiful inflexion; realistic and measured pace just as I would have imagined Ms. Dunnett to have meant.

So very pleased!! I will keep these books in "My Library" for always!

Great (really great) Book, Terrible Performance

Dorothy Dunnett's work is brilliant. her work deserves a brilliant interpretation, and this is not it. for one thing, the accents. why does everybody from France and Bruges have an accent except Nicholas and Toby? the accents aren't even well done. They are intrusive and awkward. this version needs to be scrapped and one by a good reader put in its place. such a disappointment.

Convoluted and complex

As usual, written in DD's luscious prose, with, of course, a complex plot. Nicola grows up but hopefully not too much.
