The United Shadows of America | Library Circus#9

Listen Later

When the people who yell the loudest about kindness are the cruelest and the people who preach morality commit the very acts they condemn, Jung's concept of the Shadow is as relevant as ever.
The Shadow is one of the better known Jungian archetypes, but its popularity means it suffers from mischaracterization. The Shadow isn't only your dark side, but can be the good qualities you're afraid to share. An entire society can have a Shadow side just as an individual can.
This episode is a deep dive on Jung's concept of the Shadow presented in a non-lecturing, everyday conversational format.
