This was the first service of 1988 at First Baptist of Jackson, Tennessee. Dr. McIntyre, the interim pastor, talked about the new year and the day of transition as the church faced the unknown tomorrow. He preached that it was a time to recommit and surrender new and fresh each one's lives. It was a time to arise and go forward. At the conclusion of the message Dr. McIntyre asked the church staff, the ordained ministers, the ordained deacons and all the Sunday School teachers to come forward to the platform to recommit their lives to the Lord's leading in the new year, to sanctify themselves and to accept the challenger of the new year together.
