David would have actually been an obvious threat to Jonathan, the potential heir to his father Saul's throne. But as we'll see this Sunday, God works in surprising ways and through the bond of these two men showing how his rule and reign is sovereign and complete.

This friendship against all odds not only shows us the power and importance of healthy friendship, but leads us to examine the incredible commitment that Christ has with us.
