We talk about his journey from Elk Grove Village to juniors with the New Jersey 87’s, and what it took to leave home and build a life in New England. Doug reflects on the grind of juniors hockey, earning the captain’s “C,” and how his upbringing — including having a first-generation Japanese mom — shaped the discipline and leadership he brings to the rink today.

Doug breaks down the infamous sophomore-year goal against Post — the clutch moment, the penalty box, and what he "allegedly" did that apparently echoed across the NE10.
