I was shocked to learn that the fashion industry is one of the most polluting industries in the world, second only to oil. It takes more than 5,000 gallons of water to make a t-shirt and a pair of jeans!! The U.S. generates 25 BILLION LBS of textile waste each year, recycling very little of it.
