The Urgency of Now

On April 4, 1967, Dr.Martin Luther King Jr. stood and delivered this powerful at the Riverside church in New York City condemning The Vietnam War.
Declaring “My conscience leaves me no other choice.”
Dr.King told reporters on Face the Nation that as a Minister, He had a “Prophetic Function”.
In the speech He said
“We are Faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now.”
When Dr.King spoke these words , He reminded us “Fierce urgency of now”.
He reminded us that we need one another and that we are stronger as we March together and work together to build and do God’s will. As we do God’s will, there Is an urgency of Now. Let’s go to this named Nehemiah who had a mindset on “The Urgency of Now.” The book of Nehemiah shows the fulfillment of the prophecies of Zechariah and Daniel concerning the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s walls.
It is easy to analyze, scrutinize, and talk about the problems in the world.
But we need people who will not just discuss a bad situation, but will do something about it .
Nehemiah saw a problem and was distressed.
Instead of wallowing in self pity and grief , He took action.
Nehemiah knew that God wanted him to movirvate the Jews to rebuild Jerusalem’s walls , so He left a responsible position in the Persian government to do what God wanted. Nehemiah knew God could use His skills and talents to get the job done. From the moment He arrived in Jerusalem everyone Knew He was in charge. He organized, managed, supervised, helped, encouraged , met opposition, confronted injustice, and kept going until the walls were built. Nehemiah was a man of action and vision.
