“The Usual Unusual” is a podcast adaptation of the stage play written by MJ Halberstadt, directed by Megan Sandberg-Zakian.

The play takes place in October 2017 at a gay bookstore called The Usual Unusual in Boston's South End, which, if you're not familiar, is a gayborhood quickly fading into wealthy and corporate obscurity.

Before you look it up: this is not the story of any actual gay bookstore.

Episode 1 - Penn assumes that closing The Usual Unusual will be straightforward, while Charlie assumes that he can assume ownership.
