Val Troy, along with Barbara Scully and Orla Doherty, is part of the trio behind "The Madonna Effect," a project focusing on reinvention in later life. Their discussions are often featured in lively, comedic events, such as the Dalkey Book Festival, where they explore themes of courage, self-discovery, and transformation. Each member has a unique background: Val transitioned from accountancy to comedy writing, Barbara is an author and broadcaster, and Orla shifted from being a professional squash player to a writer and comedian
Val Troy, in collaboration with Orla Doherty as the comedy duo ChatterBox, produces and hosts comedy shows, notably with Funny Women in Dublin. They have also co-written a sitcom screenplay titled "Men Oh! Pause," which was longlisted in the Female Pilot Club’s screenwriting competition. Val's debut rom-com novel, "What Could Possibly Go Wrong?" is set for publication in 2024
As always, we hope you enjoy the show.
