It doesn’t matter if you work for a boutique company or the biggest, most well-known global organization, when the numbers don’t add up, the unfortunate answer could be embezzlement. Over in New Jersey, John Dunlea and his wife Nicole Alexander were charged with embezzling more than $1.5M from the McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter law firm over the last 5 years where they both held financial roles. The couples’ scheme was found to be guilty of failure to pay taxes and theft by deception in which they gave themselves bonuses and charged personal flights and more to the law firm.
