Everyone is a storyteller, but not all of us write books. It’s been 70 years since the Korean War ended with an armistice, but there are still stories of it waiting to be told. When covid hit and we were sheltering in place, Nicole Kim Rogers passed the time by watching two war-based miniseries, A Band of Brothers & The Pacific. These series reminded her of her grandfather who spent 10 years writing down the stories he told her of growing up in Korea and fighting in the Korean War. Nicole then decided to piece together the stories of her grandfather’s escape from the totalitarian communist North Korea to the capitalist Republic of South Korea.
