on April 30th 1985 Fukuyama Hiroshima A truck driver named Haruo Otsu decided he was thirsty and wanted to stop to get a nice cold drink. He stopped at a vending machine to Quench his thirst and picks up a drink that happened to be poisoned.

This will be the first of many tragic poisonings that would sweep across Japan.
