Today, we are tackling biblical masculinity and the responsibilities of men in the home, the church, and
society. This is not a subject that aligns with the prevailing norms of our age, but it is one that is deeply
rooted in the Word of God. As we navigate this discussion, I ask for your prayers for courage and clarity, that I may speak the truth in love.
The family, while not the foundation of the church, is foundational to the church and society. History shows us that as the family goes, so goes the nation. If you've ever wondered about the moral decline in our nation over the past 50, 60, or even 70 years, I believe there is a strong connection between this decline and the breakdown of the nuclear family.
The shift from an agrarian society, where families worked together on farms, to an industrialized society, where fathers were taken out of the home for long periods, has had profound effects. Birth rates have decreased, divorce rates have increased, and marriages are being delayed. The feminist movement, while advocating for equal rights, has also contributed to changes that have not always been beneficial to the family structure. The
sexual revolution has further eroded moral standards, celebrating behaviors that were once frowned upon.
As Christians, we understand that behind these societal changes, there is a spiritual battle at play. Satan knows the strength and importance of the family. If he can
destroy the family, he can weaken the church and society. Therefore, it is vital that we arm ourselves with the truth of God's Word and stand firm against these attacks.
Our focus today is on God's design for men. This is not about what is popular or culturally acceptable, but about what is biblical. We will explore God's expectations for men, as outlined in the Scriptures, and how we can live out these principles in our homes, churches, and communities.
