Many guesses as to the kingdoms mentioned in Daniel have been made but the guesses have been marginally wrong but wrong enough that when it got to determining the identity of the kingdom portrayed by the feet of iron and miry clay the guesses were off by several orders of magnitude. But if we remember we are speaking of spiritual things even when the Bible uses physical things as illustrations, a better understanding is possible.
