After the opening Benediction, the Apostle John has been exiled on the  Island of Patmos by the Roman Empire, "for the word of God and for the  Testimony of Jesus Christ". It is here on this tiny and remote island on  the Aegean Sea, in which, John sees the Risen and Glorified Christ. In  this vision, John records what he has seen and what will take place in  the future (Rev. 1:19).
