This month’s episode offers up a lot of storytelling, multiple live events, improv comedy, music, heartfelt vulnerability and several beloved Los Feliz landmarks!
The recent Los Feliz Writer’s Festival was a huge success. Phil interviews Steve Benaquist, the host of the festival’s “Voices of Los Feliz” event in the “rooftop studio” on Vermont. Then, Phil heads over to Little Dom’s to interview life coach, actress and storyteller Alionka Polanco, who participated in “Voices of Los Feliz”. During their interviews, both Alionka and Steve share the pieces they read at the event.

Viva Los Feliz: Architecture (held at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre) was a sold-out smash hit and this month’s episode features several highlights from that show, including true daughter of Los Feliz Tiger Schenkman exploring the origins of the beloved Shakespeare Bridge.
Before this month’s Los Feliz Neighborhood Council Cultural Affairs Committee meeting at the Desert Rose, Phil sat down with committee co-chair (and genuine community hero) Jon Deutsch to discuss this weekend’s huge Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio Square Block Party!
Finally, via the magic of Zoom, Ben Deeb checks in from France, to share his thoughts about the Writer’s Festival (wherein he shares a piece he read at the fest), the Viva Los Feliz show (where again he lent his talents), and to preview the forthcoming Porchfest.
Announcer Marc Hershon lends his signature wit to the proceedings, Jon Lawlor provides the music score (as well as a live rendition of the show’s theme song), and brilliant improvisers Fernando Funes and Lily Holleman play Frank Lloyd Wright and Aline Barnsdall in a “Great Moment in Architecture History”.
