The Gauteng Department of Social Development Men’s Forum will this coming Friday be honouring men who have positioned themselves as positive role models in society. The awards are being used as an intervention to curb gender based violence that has plagued the country. So we thought to use this opportunity to talk about this initiative and also to men about adding their voice to the scourge. What are men doing or should be doing to groom boys against abuse and respect to women? The other major problem is how men forums often speak to men who don’t abuse the women in their lives, how then do they reach the abusers?
