The Voice That Awakens
“Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear His voice and come out.” - John 5:28.
Today, we’re surrounded by voices — from social media, friends, influencers, and endless opinions. Each one is trying to shape the way we think, feel, and live. But there’s one voice that’s unlike any other. It’s not just a voice that speaks — it’s a voice that brings life.
Jesus said that a time is coming when everyone in their graves will hear His voice. He was talking about something powerful: the final resurrection, when every person who has ever lived will rise to face eternity. But that same voice which will one day raise the dead is also calling out to you right now.
There are a lot of people walking around alive on the outside, but dead on the inside. Breathing, talking, studying, posting — but feeling empty, numb, or lost. Maybe that’s you. You’re doing all the right things on the surface, but deep down, something’s missing. And no matter what you try to fill it with — entertainment, relationships, success, attention — the emptiness remains.
What’s missing is real life. The kind of life only Jesus can give.
His voice isn’t just for the future. It’s for today. Right now. His voice has the power to awaken your heart, to heal what’s broken, to fill what’s been empty for too long. He’s not shouting over the noise of the world — He’s speaking directly to your soul. But you have to choose to listen.
So take a moment today. Step away from the noise. Be still. And simply say, “Jesus, speak to me. I want to hear Your voice.” It might seem like a small thing, but it could be the most important moment of your life. Because this isn’t just about feelings or religion — this is about your life, your purpose, and your eternity.
One day, everyone will hear the voice of Jesus. But only those who choose to respond to it now will be ready then.
Let’s pray together:
Jesus, I don’t want to live on autopilot. I don’t want to keep pretending everything’s okay while I’m empty inside. Speak to me. Wake me up. Change me. I want to truly live — with purpose, with peace, with hope. Help me be ready to hear Your voice — both now and on that final day. In Your name, amen.
