Listen Later

Hadji Ali was born in 1892 in Egypt. Though out his career Ali was known by many names but famous for only one thing; his ability to hold ungodly quantities of water in his stomach before regurgitating it.

Medical practitioners were interested in his act and several of the doctors from Johns Hopkins and Maryland University examined Ali to see if there was a possibility of fraud - an examination took place with the final result finding that no trickery was involved.

On 5th November 1937 Ali died of heart failure due to myocarditis and influenza in Wolverhampton, England.
