Topic: THE WAIT IS OVER (Part 3)!
Memory Verse: "And the LORD said unto Moses, Wherefore criest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward" - Exodus 14:15 KJV
Bible Text: Deuteronomy 1:6-7 KJV
6. The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:
7. Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, .....
INSPIRATION: God spoke to Moses in very clear terms: "Stop crying to me; get the people to go forward" (Exo. 14: 15 paraphrased). In other words, God wasn't getting moved by his tears where action was required! Most of us get too carried away by our emotions, thinking God could be swayed by it. But if He wasn't with Moses', don't expect Him to be with yours. Simply dust yourself up and move forward from the past, the pain, the loss or delay. It's high time you stopped empowering your past bitter experiences to shape your future.
God says to Moses to tell Israel to move forward! The miracle you hoped to provoke by your pity-party is only possible on the other side of your action: so move forward! The ten lepers that encountered Jesus didn't get healed until they moved forward. Give yourself a mindshift that allows only for positive thoughts to thrive in your heart; do not cripple yourself or make yourself immobile by your actions. Moving in circles is not your habitation; moving forward is!
TODAY'S TAKE HOME:
Today, stand before a mirror and address the image thereon to move forward. Be determined to do better for yourself!
PRAYER: Dear Lord, I receive grace not to keep wallowing in self-pity. I'm determined to move forward as You lead me into new possibilities. My mind no longer dwells on my past but on the future. Bless every step I take henceforth, O Lord, in obedience to Your command to move forward, in Jesus name.
