One of the best-selling apocalyptic thrillers in Spain available for the first time in English! The city of Malaga is dead, but the promised eternal rest has yet to come to its inhabitants.
In the Carranque camp, 30 survivors have built a shelter to keep out the dangers of the world. They fight not only to recover the city, but also the physical and mental degradation of surviving day to day after the pandemic. One of the survivors, Isabel, casts handwritten notes from the penthouse into the dead-filled streets below. But a mad priest, Father Isidro, is the only living soul to find these cries for help. And now he knows precisely where to find the camp and carry out his morbid judgment.
Editorial Reviews:
Zombies wont consume Father Isidro, which is all the confirmation he requires to act as an Angel of Death and carry out on a small band of survivors what he believes to be Gods apocalyptic wrath. In gravelly and fittingly-accented English, Ray Chase ("Ray" from the webseries FML) performs Carlos Sisis Spanish best seller of Mediterranean gem Malaga turned into a city of the dead. Sisi received the Best Writer 2010 Award from Imaginamalaga and The Wanderers was recognized as Best Zombie Novel 2009 in online voting at www.amanecerzombie.com.

Zombies for Spain ... a nice change
Narrator Ray Chase reads all characters with a Spanish accent--and it works. Gutsy move, but it does keep you reminded where the story is happening. This is a different type of Z story. There're guns, but they aren't going off constantly. The writing tends to be hit and miss. If your a zombie fan, I think it's worth a credit.
uuggh
Couldnt get through this book - sorry but Im not crazy about the narrator - its confusing and really not the best book -
This was a best seller in spain? Say what?!
What would have made The Wanderers better?
More action..... I'm not sure how a zombie book can be boring, but this author found a way.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Anything not by this author.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The narrator did a good job. I have no complaints, except for his choice in book selections.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Wanderers?
All the pointless, boring chatter amonst the characters.
Any additional comments?
At one point in this book, the author went on and on about Americans failing to help their own people in New Orleans. I do think all of our successes greatly out number or failures. I found myself quote annoyed by his sarcastic point of view.
Love it
Loved it, Spanish zombie apocalypse. Brilliant build up, great character development, you care and are invested in the people. Great twist with a crazy priest and explained well too. It's a great great listen, if you like zombies get it.
