The Applied Word

The War is of God

Listen Later

Most men approach the daily grind relying entirely on their own strength, their own network, and their own resilience. But what happens when you are severely outnumbered by the challenges in front of you? In this episode of The Applied Word, we look at 1 Chronicles 5:22 alongside Charles Spurgeon's morning devotional. We examine an ancient battle where the odds were stacked against God's people, yet the victory was decisive. We discuss the tension between doing the necessary work—wielding the sword and the shield—while keeping your total confidence resting in the Lord alone. No fluff. Just the Word and the walk.

🛠 The Applied Word: This Week’s Challenge

In Your Work:

Show up and execute with excellence, using the tools God has given you. But actively shift your trust from your own competence to God's providence. Work hard, but recognize the outcome belongs to Him.

In Your Family:

Acknowledge the spiritual battles happening in your home. Lead with the Word, but do not rely solely on your own discipline or logic. Cry out to God for the hearts of your wife and children.

The "Battleground":

The 'Battleground' Test: Look at the primary source of your stress right now. Are you exhausted because you are trying to fight a spiritual battle with physical weapons? Are you relying on the size of your army, or the presence of your God? If the war is of God, the victory is sure. Stop carrying the weight of the outcome on your own shoulders."
