The day Jesus was resurrected, two of his disciples were walking along a road to a village called Emmaus, when he appeared to them. They were lonely and confused; they believed that Jesus was the Messiah, but did not understand that His suffering and death were a part of God's plan of salvation. Luke reminds us even today that when we feel lonely, we're never really alone, that we feel confused, He's ready to give us Good News, and when we welcome Jesus, He abides with us.
