Seb is a jiu jitsu black belt, CrossFit beast, and retired first responder whose career included many years leading the Emergency Response Team in his province, the equivalent to a SWAT team in the states. Recently he had a series of harrowing experiences with life-threatening complications following a routine surgery, which we don't even touch on today.
What we do get into is some of his origin story, and how the adversity he faced as a kid helped fuel his future career in law enforcement. We also get into some more esoteric territory, exploring the relationship between spirituality, mental health and the capacity for violence. Seb is a vocal advocate for mental health for first responders, and we also dive into some of what we understand about PTSD, victim mentality, and how to change your mindset and life circumstances.
Seb is a remarkably deep and thoughtful gentleman, and it was a real honor to get to chat with him today. Stay tuned for more from me and Seb soon.
