The Way - Lesson 1 - God’s Way vs. Man’s Way
Welcome to The Way, a home Bible study designed to deepen your understanding of Scripture and strengthen your walk with the Lord. In Lesson 1: God’s Way vs. Man’s Way, we return to the foundations—before denominations, traditions, or opinions—to discover how God has always revealed one consistent way for mankind.
Jesus declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Long before the New Testament was written, God was already revealing that Way through creation, covenant, sacrifice, and promise. In this episode, we explore why the early believers were called “the people of this Way” and how their lives reflected the words and works of Jesus Himself.
This lesson walks through:
• The authority and structure of the Old Testament, showing how Scripture has one true Author—the Holy Ghost—and why doctrine must be built on multiple witnesses, not isolated verses.
• Creation Week, emphasizing the power of God’s spoken Word and how everything that exists is still held together by it.
• The nature of man, created in the image of God, possessing both flesh and spirit, pointing forward to Jesus Christ—the image of the invisible God.
• The power of choice, as seen in the Garden of Eden, and how disobedience brought spiritual death even when physical life continued.
• The first judgment and the first promise, revealing the earliest prophecy of Calvary and Satan’s ultimate defeat.
• The birth of Cain and Abel, where two offerings reveal two religions: God’s way and man’s way—one based on obedience and blood, the other on human effort and rebellion.
You’ll see how sacrifice, blood, and atonement were not man-made ideas, but God’s design from the beginning—pointing directly to Jesus Christ, the true Lamb. This episode lays essential groundwork for understanding why salvation, worship, and obedience cannot be shaped by culture or preference, but must follow God’s revealed way.
