Palm Sunday reveals a profound tension between the Jesus we want and the Jesus we need. The crowds expected a political king who would overthrow Rome and solve their problems, but Jesus came as a humble servant riding a donkey toward the cross. While they wanted earthly power and immediate solutions, Jesus offered something far greater - salvation through sacrifice. Today we often make the same mistake, wanting a Jesus who fits our agenda rather than surrendering to the Jesus revealed in Scripture. The same crowd that shouted Hosanna later cried Crucify Him because Jesus didn't meet their expectations. True freedom comes not from a problem-solving Jesus, but from the humble, serving, sacrificial King who gave His life for our salvation.
