The West Coast of the United States has always been a center of mystery. Native American legends, tantalizing traces of Chinese visits in the Middle Ages, lost gold mines, and supernatural visitations are only some of the phenomena in a region rich with stories of the unknown. The Weird West Coast: Monsters, Mysteries, and Madmen on the Pacific Rim is part of an ongoing series by Sean McLachlan and Charles River Editors that includes The Weird Wild West, Mysteries of the South, The Mysterious Midwest, and Mysterious New England, and more regional titles will be coming soon. This book offers a sampling of strange, unexplained, and just plain odd stories of the West Coast that have fascinated people in and around the region for centuries. You will learn about the weird West Coast like never before, in no time at all.

TUNNELS, RUMORS AND THIEVES
When I see the word 'weird' in a title, I expect unusual topics, sometimes with proof, sometimes not.
There's the usual Bigfoot paragraphs, but there are other strange creatures I've never heard of: the cactus cat for example.
You'll learn of thieves, who sometimes double cross their kinfolk, lost gold mines and miles of tunnels used for moving drugs and people.
I love this stuff...The Weird West Coast
This is a good, gotta read for the history of it!! Decent read...
Don't Bother
Besides being unremarkable, contentwise, at 50 pages this is barely even a chapbook -- and one that's poorly laid-out! Did anyone even look at this file before it was printed? I'd send it back, but it's not worth the postage or trouble.
Legends and myths
Generally the book was researched with several areas covered as the title would suggest. There are stories about ghosts and strange cryptozoology creatures that are somewhat new information. It's a good read for pool or beach side as the articles and short and easily absorbed.
Fun fast read
Well researched. Fast moving. Fun info. I learned something new in nearly every section. Good option for adults and YP.
