We associate the power and provision of God’s promises of a redeemer with the imagery of a cross and empty tomb. For the Israelites of the Old Testament, it is found in the imagery of the land. Every time we read the narrative, or “map that has no pictures” in words of Joshua chapters 13-19, it is the promise of a future secured and lives changed.
