The What is Yoga Series - Asana

Listen Later

Asana is probably the most recognizable part of yoga in the West – If you have ever attended a yoga class, you have done Asana! Most yoga classes have a series of physical postures in a specific sequence created by the teacher, usually to music, that lasts about one hour. You can find yoga classes everywhere – gyms, yoga studios, martial arts studios, outdoors, at big events.
Asana is often used to describe yoga postures. Join Jamie as she explores how Asana has evolved over time as well as her tips for implementing yoga postures in your life.
**This episode is the fourth in a sequential series exploring basic principles of yoga philosophy and how you can apply these principles to your daily life. This series is perfect for beginners wanting to learn more about yoga philosophy, as well as yoga practitioners that want to revisit their studies.**
