Danny Ortega and three college friends ignore an old man's warnings about venturing past Timber Creek during their weekend camping trip in the Cascade Mountains. What begins as a simple forestry expedition into the Pacific Northwest wilderness quickly turns sinister when they encounter something that defies explanation—an entity that communicates through haunting melodies and seems to possess an intelligence far beyond anything in Danny's forestry textbooks. As the group struggles to find their way back to civilization, they discover that some things in the deep forest are better left undisturbed, and escape may not be possible.
