Kamala Harris, born on October 20, 1964, in Oakland, California, to immigrant parents from India and Jamaica, grew up in a diverse environment that shaped her worldview. Her mother was a breast cancer researcher, and her father was an economics professor. Harris attended Howard University and UC Hastings College of the Law. She built a distinguished career as a prosecutor, eventually becoming California’s Attorney General and later a U.S. Senator.
